How to streamline your motoring club’s operation was the topic for a Saturday morning seminar held by the AOMC at the JCCV clubrooms. The seminar attracted more 80 participants from a range of car, motorcycle and truck clubs from around Melbourne and Victoria.

Among the subjects covered were streamlining club management, how to improve content in club publications and web sites, printing and mailing options, use of social media and managing club databases.

The information was well covered and well received by participants from both large and small clubs. A common theme from the floor was how to move on to a more modern approach in order to encourage volunteer participation and younger members.

AOMC president Keith Mortimer felt it was a “great day with speakers providing practical expertise that was enjoyed by all present”.

Keith said the common theme was that all the different clubs face the same challenges but can also embrace the same opportunities.

“I am sure all attendees took something positive and practical from the day.”

Lyn Belcher, David Lyon, Ann Isaacs and Graham Deahl attended for the JCCV. Keith was there, of course, wearing both his AOMC and JCCV hats.

The next round of the popular AOMC seminars will be on restoration services, Saturday, July 22, at the JCCV clubrooms.
